Welcome to My Professional Math classroom!

Welcome to my MATH Teaching Practice E-portfolio. In these pages, I will show up how I am working towards reaching the Higher College of Technology Professional Standards for MATH future Teachers. I explore my personal, and ever-evolving, teaching MATH philosophy, and reflect upon my growing professional practice and knowledge as a student teacher. You will find concrete examples of learning experiences I have created for students in the classrooms I have had such an awesome practicing teaching MATH within and, the learning I have observed from these experiences with grade 1 at Ibn-Dhaher primary school Circle 1.

Studying and practicing to become a primary school teacher is perhaps one of the most challenging ventures I have ever embarked upon, but undoubtedly the most rewarding. Having children engage enthusiastically in math subject that I have created and seeing them learn and grow in meaningful ways from these experiences inspires me greatly. My professional learning and development journey as a teacher is only just beginning despite that my graduation is nearby!

My  Vision

  • Math teacher is the farmer who planting the logical thinking seeds which spread the sage because it teaching the organization and the priorities of process in general life.

  • Math Teacher is considered as the screw driver which varied brain ways of thinking and to take a decisions.

  • Great Math teacher who do the best to produce effective people in the society without focuses on interests or benefits for himself/ herself only.

  • At the core of my teaching style and philosophy is a concern for my students.  I care deeply about each and every student and strive to help all students reach their potentials both as students of mathematics and as people.

  • My teaching methods are based on all of my previous experiences some were sad and some were hope.  when I was young. I promise myself when I starting teaching the young students in grade 1 this semester that I will fill all the gaps that I had in my childhood or my sons as well. My math lesson will be based on encouragement, positive reinforcement, open-ended discussions and high expectation from my students

  • In short term, Teaching and learning mathematics has to involve enthusiasm, relationships, and commitment on the parts of both the me and my student.

  • Enthusiasm fuels my mathematics classroom and motivates my students.  I thoroughly enjoy and am excited by mathematics and the teaching of mathematics.  The atmosphere is contagious; I feel my students can sense my enthusiasm and become more interested in mathematics themselves.  I have found that nothing is more motivational to students than real interest in what they are learning.

  • Math Teacher is the most one who is representing the candle, which burn itself to illuminates for others in all life aspects, health, architecture, education, agriculture, etc.

  •

  • Despite the differences of format, one thing remains the same: my role as facilitator.  I believe that students learn mathematics best by doing mathematics and then working to communicate about mathematics.  Therefore, my classroom involves discussion among students and with me.  As a facilitator, I frequently use the Socratic Method in class to elicit mathematical thought and foster engagement with mathematical concepts.

  • I have found that math is interested aspect that using multiple representations of ideas as which motivated students because for two reasons.  First of all, different students learn in different ways, and one representation may be easier for a student to understand than another.  Secondly, knowing multiple representations and methods of solution makes for better problem solving   which produce professional generation being able to solve renewed problems in 21st Century.

Why  it is E- portfolio ?

An electronic portfolio e-portfolio, is a collection of my evidences which assembled and managed by me on the web.

My teaching practice 2016 is demonstrating my identification, teaching math philosophy. This E- portfolio will shows my professionalism, planning for lessons, monitoring and evaluation students’ obtaining and my reflections of my future plans.

I believe strongly, that creating online website is the best for several reliable reasons as, If my evidences are online, I can maintain them dynamically over time.E-portfolios, like traditional portfolios, can facilitate students' reflection on their own learning, leading to more awareness of learning strategies and needs. Comparative research by M. van Wesel and Prop between paper-based portfolios and electronic portfolios in the same setting suggests that use of an electronic portfolio leads to better learning outcomes.

Moreover, by this digital portfolio we can save the paper, protect the environment from air pollution which happened when burning wastes and also that will keep me in touch with the external math teaching individuals as tutors, teachers and the institutions.
